FAT DISSOLVING INJECTIONS
DesoBody & DesoFace
Deso Body and Deso Face is a treatment which consists of fat dissolving injections. When injected into the targeted area, the fat cells are liquefied and permanently destroyed. The body then naturally removes the fat through its lymphatic system. The injections are combined with ultrasound cavitation and lymphatic drainage to enhance the results.
The treatment uses Deoxycholic Acid which disrupts and destroys fat cells.
The process includes a consultation, followed by a fully informed written consent, then an assessment which will include the discussion of the number of sessions needed, intervals between sessions and finally the cost.
The treatment consists of the treated area being targeted then photographed with your permission. Then the area is cleaned and disinfected. The product used is mixed with a local anaesthetic which will be injected with a small needle. Multiple injections will be required. The entire procedure last about 20-30 minutes.

The treatment can be performed on areas with stubborn fat including the thighs, stomach, bottom, saddlebags, and back fat. It can also be performed on small areas such as the arms, knees, face, man boobs, eye bags and double chin. It can even help to treat lipomas (fatty lumps within the skin).
Some noticeable results may appear in the first couple of days, but the final result is not fully visible until 6 weeks after the treatment.
Results for body treatments include fat reduction and improvement of skin firmness.
Results for face treatments include drainage of excess fluids as well as reduction in fat.

Does it Hurt?
The procedure usually comes with a small amount of discomfort which is tolerable. It is noted that incorrect placement near the skin or muscle can trigger a sharp pain.
- Regarding aftercare, we advise that you avoid strenuous exercise and alcohol consumption within the first 24hrs after the treatment.
- You may experience redness, swelling and tenderness
- Avoid Aspirin for pain relief to avoid the risk of bruising or bleeding. Paracetamol is accepted.
- To help with discomfort, perform intermittent cooling with ice for 5 minutes after procedure. You could also use a fan.
- Avoid heat (direct sunlight, sunbeds, heat therapies, hot baths, and showers) for 5 days.
- Bruising may appear
- Your practitioner may recommend you wear a compression garment 2-5 days after procedure
- Nodules (small lumps of swelling) may appear and last up to a month. They are not uncommon and can usually disappear without any concern.
How long will it last?
The results within the targeted area are permanent. Please note that this is not a treatment for obesity, and it does not prevent your body from creating new fat that might be caused from dietary/lifestyle choices.
Why would someone have the treatment?
Fat dissolving injections can assist the removal of stubborn pockets of fat that may not disappear from diet and exercise.
Who generally has this treatment?
Mostly anyone can have this treatment, however, an assessment will be conducted to decide whether the desired area for the treatment will be suitable (analyse the thickness of fat by ‘pinching’. Too little and the procedure carries unnecessary risks). Those that may be classed as obese will also be inappropriate for the treatment.
Women that are pregnant or breastfeeding cannot have the procedure along with individuals who have acute/untreated hormonal disorders, an allergy to the substances/materials used in the procedure, a severe autoimmune disease, immunosuppression, an active infection, or Body Dysmorphic Disorder.
